High School Youth Group @ the Waterfront
ALL 9th - 12th graders....Don’t forget about YOUTH GROUP
every TUESDAY NIGHT, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. @ the church office.
We have just started a great bible study looking @ the book of Judges from the Old Testament and having some great discussion about what it meant for Israel and what it means for you to live surrounded by idols and idolatry. EVERYONE is welcome - come check it out and bring a friend.

Saturday, May 19 - High School group night out in Seattle
What do you say to a night filled with flying elbows, hip checking people into wall at 20mph, and a knee to the stomach if you can get away with it. “No”, you say “that does not sound like fun at all”, but I say to you “You’re right. But what about watching someone else do it for sport?” Saturday May 19 one day only Rat City Roller Girls roller derby at 5:30p.m. We will meet at the ferry terminal at 3:35 to catch the 3:50p.m boat to Seattle were we will eat pizza and then we will make our way to Key Arena for a night filled with rolling thunder. We will catch the 9:00p.m boat back. $8 for the ticket if you are 16 or younger $14 for 17 and above. Bus money $2.25. Cross Sound will provide pizza and ferry ticket. Scholarships are available. Sunday, May 20th – Special Parenting Round Table
Special Parenting (and teen) Round Table – May 20th Featuring Dr. Jillian Worth “Help! My Teenager is an Alien!” Why are teens and preteens sometimes so hard to get along with? Why are they so changeable? Why do we suddenly feel like enemies? And how can we survive, and thrive in this turbulent time of life. Dr. Jillian Worth, a primary care physician with Virginia Mason, Winslow specializes in eating disorders and adolescent health. She shares with great wit and wisdom about what is happening biologically and physiologically that effects preteen and teen behavior. You will come away encouraged and equipped with ways to understand and love those crazy teens! If you are a teen, if you have a teen, if you are going to have a teen, this is a great talk and you won’t want to miss it! Open to all– invite your friends & neighbors. 5:30 – 7:30 in the High School Commons. Dinner and child care will be provided and a $5 individual/ $10 family donation is appreciated. Sunday, June 3rd - 4th Annual Pentecost Missions Fair
Please plan to join us after church for our 4th annual Pentecost Missions Fair. Mark Your Calendars: All upcoming 5th - 8th graders are invited to our annual Foundations Class from June 19th - 22nd. We will be meeting from 9:00 - 12:00 each day at Paul and Regina Gurtler’s home. This year we will be studying the Lord’s Prayer, making new friendships, having a lot of fun together and battling it out in the world-famous Oatmeal War. Helpline needs:
Like Old Mother Hubbard we went to the cupboard and found the cereal
shelf bare!! Helpline is making this “special” cereal request to help bring the shelf back to overflowing because the next food drive is weeks away and this easy breakfast meal is always in demand. Cereal donations can be dropped off at the local supermarket entryway, Helpline Box or at Helpline House, 282 Knechtel Way. Your help is greatly appreciated.

“We heal the sickest kids in the world in the name of Christ. When the
doors and windows are closed, we go through the roof.” Astrid, a 12 year old girl with below the knee amputations, will arrive in the US at the end of March to be fitted with prosthetics. Paul and Cynthia Parker are opening their home to her while she goes through this process. If you are interested in helping with funding please contact Chuck Power cwpower73@aol.com

YoungLives
YoungLives is a Young Life Ministry for teen moms - reaching out to teen moms in North Kitsap and Bainbridge Island. Sherri Gray and Katie Brase are looking to get this ministry active in our area. Needs will be mentors, meal providers once a month, childcare provides once a month, a committee and prayer support. An Informational Meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25th at 6:30pm - North Point Church in Poulsbo - across the street from North Kitsap High School. Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)
Evening women’s and evening men’s class start Monday night September 12, and the day women’s class begins on Thursday morning September 15th. The evening classes provide a wonderful way for parents to study the Bible with their school age children, as curricula for grades 1 - 12 are available. The day women’s class provides a children’s program for new borns through kindergarten. Please consider enrolling and taking BSF for a 4 - 6 week test drive. Cross Sound Church contacts for the three classes are Regina Gurtler and Jeff Ogard for the evening classes, and Beth Johnston for the day women’s class.
